Ontario popped the cork on online liquor sales and home delivery last week Tuesday. Customers can now buy up to 5000 different products from across Canada and 85 other countries online with a promise to expand those choices up to 1600 by next year.
Customers can choose to have their order sent to an LCBO store of their choice for pick up free of charge or have it delivered to their doorstep. Canada post will deliver products anywhere in Ontario for $12 per order plus tax. There is a $50 minimum applied to all online orders. Home deliveries would be made within 2-3 days and pickup orders would be available at any store within 4-12 days.
The government stressed the LCBO will be working in partnership with Canada post to ensure that online orders are only handled by and delivered to adults of legal drinking age.
